In modern medicine, there is no standard protocol for treatment of chronic headache pain. As founder of the National Headache Institute, Dr. Payman Sadeghi has long been on a journey to address this and bring relief to patients. Dr. Sadeghi’s educational achievements and experience give him unique insight in regenerative medicine – headache care that addresses underlying conditions by helping the body heal. These treatments assist patients in feeling their best on the long-term.

Dr. Sadeghi’s Early Work in Regenerative Headache Treatments

Dr. Sadeghi graduated from the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada, with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. This gave him a strong foundation in understanding the body’s interrelated systems.

As a high-achieving student, Dr. Sadeghi selected Nordestana University in the Dominican Republic for his medical degree. He was then enthusiastically invited to complete his clinical rotation at two of Canada’s leading universities, McGill University and the University of Montreal.

Dr. Sadeghi completed his neurology residency at the University of Texas-Galveston, where he had the opportunity to observe first-hand unique challenges of chronic headache care.

Traveling the World to Refine Regenerative Healthcare Insights

At the University of Texas, Dr. Sadeghi had chance to work with Dr. Ninan Matthew, one of the most respected figures in headache treatment among Houston patients. This helped Dr. Sadeghi synthesize his observations.

Dr. Sadeghi served as assistant professor of neurology at the University of Texas, allowing him to carry out substantial research. He has traveled worldwide, consulting experts in Mexico, Peru, Wisconsin, Nevada, Florida and elsewhere.

Today: Houston’s Top Source of Regenerative Medicine for Headache Sufferers

Under Dr. Sadeghi, the National Headache Institute now consists of locations in Houston, Miami and New Jersey. Currently, Houston and Miami is where the team advances headache science via regenerative medicine.

Current regenerative treatments include:

Neuro-Prolotherapy and Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy helps restore full functionality to painful nerves that have been “entrapped” through pressure or other issues. It uses a specialized injection known as Dextrose near the nerve site.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP therapy involves treating a sample of the patient’s blood in a centrifuge. This enriches the blood with a variety of natural healing agents where the outcome isolates reach amounts of platelets. Afterward, the platelets are reintroduced into the body allowing the stem cells in the body attach to the platelets and begin the journey to regeneration.

Stem Cells

Stem cells are unique “template cells” that can adjust to become virtually any other type of cell in the body. Adults carry a reserve of these cells within bone marrow and adipose tissue.

Through Dr. Sadeghi’s memberships in the American Headache Society, National Headache Foundation and American Academy of Neurology, he continues to refine regenerative treatment He is in the final stages of developing an innovative new protocol for cervicogenic headache care.
